Right above the little town of Luz Saint-Sauveur is the resort of Luz-Ardiden, offering three vast sides of slopes for ski-ing without having to wait and queue, and where to enjoy all various kinds of gliding.

The Grand Tourmalet is the largest ski-ing territory in the French Pyrénées. Ski slopes of La Mongie on one side, and on the other side the forests of Barèges and the atmosphere of an authentic pyrenean village.

Easy-going skiers can easily take their families and children, along the 11 km trails of pistes graded “blue or green” that link both extremities of the ski-ing range, with the mythic Tourmalet Pass in its middle, discovering on their way the many sides of this exceptional region.

Skilled skiers can enjoy practising the “black-graded” slopes, or try free-ride on multiple zones around the ski slopes domain or even on the slopes of Pic du Midi itself – the latter for their exclusive use.

Pont d’Espagne is particularly fit for the practise of Nordic Ski-ing.

Only 7 km from Cauterets, in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, Pont d’Espagne offers 36 km of ski-ing pistes, 5 Nordic Ski trails, among fir-trees and waterfalls, on both plateaus of Clot and Cayan. A unique site for Nordic Ski.1500 m high, in wild and preserved surroundings.

It is also renowned as an ideal site for learning how to ski down gentle slopes along its 4 ski pistes ( 2 green ones, 1 blue one and 1 red one), with one chairlift and two ski lifts.

Sledging, and snow-shoeing.

With children or among adults, enjoy the sledge piste, preserved and secure, for the greatest joy of all. In the same way, enjoy the beauties of the magical mountain-scapes from the 6 km long snow paths, walking on foot or on snow- shoes.

6 packed and marked trails for snow-shoes, 5 starting from Col de Couraduque and one from Col du Soulor. Everyone at one’s own personal pace, a complete immersion in unspoilt nature and forest.

Skating, as well as classical crosscountry, can be practised on Hautacam 15 km long range of slopes. Situated in middle altitude, Hautacam is above all a place of quietness and tranquillity with wonderful panoramas, lots of sunshine, particularly recommended for a family stay.

It is also locally known as a starting point for snow-shoe walking trips towards the lakes, or the ridges.
